ALL YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

What cashmere sweater styles does Quince offer for women?

Quince's cashmere spoke holds 75+ silhouettes across three sub-lines. Standard 100% Grade A Mongolian cashmere covers crewneck, V-neck, turtleneck, mock neck, polo, hoodie, sweatshirt, quarter-zip, henley, wrap, sweater vest, padded-shoulder tank, and a wide cardigan family (boyfriend, fisherman, duster, open, collared, structured, ribbed, cable, cropped, short sleeve, dolman, V-neck, button-down). Baby Cashmere — 14.5-14.9 micron, finer than standard Grade A — is available in crewneck, V-neck, turtleneck, sweatshirt, cable cardigan, and quarter-zip. Featherweight Cashmere uses longer fiber length for a lighter, more pill-resistant feel — ribbed crewneck, mockneck, henley, and tank. A Cotton Cashmere blend rounds out the assortment for year-round wear. Seasonal Christmas styles are also available.

What's the difference between Grade A Mongolian, Baby Cashmere, and Featherweight cashmere?

Grade A Mongolian cashmere — Quince's standard line — uses 15.8 micron long-staple fibers, the same quality standard used in luxury cashmere knitwear. Baby Cashmere uses 14.5-14.9 micron fibers, taken from the first combing of a baby goat — even finer than Grade A. Each goat produces roughly enough baby cashmere for one sweater per year, making the line genuinely rare. The Featherweight Cashmere line uses Grade A cashmere knit at a longer fiber length and finer gauge, creating a lighter-weight, more pill-resistant cashmere ideal for warmer-weather wear. All three are 100% cashmere — they differ in fiber diameter, fiber length, and knit gauge, which determines softness, weight, and durability.

Is Quince cashmere real Grade A cashmere?

Yes. Every Quince standard cashmere sweater is made from 100% Mongolian cashmere, sourced from Inner Mongolia. We use Grade A fibers measuring 15.8 microns — the same quality standard commonly used in luxury cashmere knitwear. Our Baby Cashmere uses even finer 14.5-14.9 micron fibers.

How do Quince cashmere sweaters fit?

Most cashmere sweaters run true to size. The classic Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck has a relaxed fit. Oversized styles (Oversized Crewneck, Oversized V-Neck, Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan) are intentionally roomy — most customers stay with their standard size. Featherweight styles fit slightly closer to the body given the finer gauge. Cashmere stretches with body heat after the first wear and tightens back up after washing — that 'broken in' feel is normal. Cardigans run consistent across the buttoned styles; the Duster and Open Cardigan have longer torso lengths intentionally.

How do I care for cashmere sweaters?

Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent, or machine wash on the wool/delicate cycle in a mesh bag. Lay flat to dry — never hang wet (cashmere stretches). Pill management: use a cashmere comb or pumice stone for the first few wears; pilling lessens significantly after the first 2-3 washes. Store folded, not hung. Avoid bleach. The Featherweight line is more pill-resistant by construction (longer fiber length, finer gauge) so requires less de-pilling than standard Mongolian.

Why is Quince cashmere considered well-priced?

Quince sources Mongolian cashmere directly from goat herders and ships from manufacturers without the traditional markup layers — same long-staple Grade A cashmere construction as specialty cashmere brands, at well below specialty-brand retail pricing for comparable construction. The pricing model applies to all three cashmere sub-lines — standard Mongolian, Baby Cashmere, and Featherweight Cashmere. The same approach extends to the assortment's cotton, merino, alpaca, and yak materials.
